Remember Jon Stewart’s Rally for Sanity?
Near the end of Stewart’s closing speech, he used a great visual aid: ten lanes of traffic funneling into two lanes of the Lincoln Tunnel. The video underscored Stewart’s point: given the opportunity, most people will cooperate and act sanely.
Now, every time I merge into a lane before entering the tunnel, I’m reminded of Stewart’s speech and its hopeful outlook for the future of American politics.
May all our visual aids have that level of clarity, impact and staying power!
Watch Jon Stewart’s 12-minute speech…the tunnel segment starts around 9:30.
